Toxins that Are Treacherous to Your Health
There are two types of toxins that our body deals with — exotoxins (toxins that originate outside the body) and endotoxins (toxins that are produced within the body).
Exotoxins are any one of tens of thousands of household, agricultural or industrial chemical substances that we’re exposed to on a fairly frequent basis in our day-to-day life. To a certain degree, we can moderate and restrain our exposure to these types of toxins. The types of products and produce we purchase is one area of our life where we can be in almost complete control. More and more shops offer high quality cleaning and other household products that are toxin-free.
Endotoxins are much more difficult to control. These are the by-products of the normal metabolic processes of our body. An endotoxin can be a bodily waste product, anti-bodies, hormones and cellular material whose components need to be recycled or excreted.
Many of us who live in modern cities today tolerate some degree of toxic overwhelm. Even though our body is fit to deal with the filtering and elimination of endotoxins, the body cannot usually deal with the increasing amount of exotoxins that we take in through our beverages, food, air, household products and personal care products. As much as we may try to avoid environmental toxins, our power to do so is very tricky. The truth is, our bodies are exposed to an unmatched number and diversity of chemicals that are completely foreign, if not very harmful, to the body. Unsophisticated ways we can minimize our exposure to toxins is to buy natural ingredient health care and cleaning products, and to always buy organic produce when available.
In addition to reducing our exposure to environmental and dietary toxins, we can do a great deal to aid the body’s innate detoxification operations. Doing a semiannual body detox program will cleanse your body and significantly minimize the physical load on your body that toxicity causes.
