Do a Body Detox with a Friend

Even if you have only one friend, one co-worker, one neighbor you know who is into health foods and alternative medicine, or is just plain adventurous, it can form a basis for exploring the whole process of doing a detox together. If you don’t, we hope you aren’t terribly shy, but if you are, you’ll see below that we have suggestions for those who must work without support.

Here are some activities to suggest doing with someone else:

Vegetarian (which often translates into ethnic) cooking lessons. Most popular ethnic cuisines can be adapted to work without meat. These include Italian, Mexican, Chinese, Thai, Indian and Japanese. Why vegetarian? In general, it’s the way to eat with much lower fat content, more vegetables, less wheat, sugar and dairy, all of which are important dietary considerations in a detoxification program. Many health care companies have “wellness” plans that offer cooking lessons. You can also find them through adult schools that operate in conjunction with high schools and community colleges, as well as universities.
